Lily was born in the former Yugoslavia, but has lived in the USA since she was seven years old. She has degrees in anthropology and Spanish, but is a passionate learner and reader. Her interests include everything from art history to zoology.

Lily’s stories and novels usually focus on personal transformation set against turbulent historical periods. Her characters often acquire self knowledge while leaving their most treasured illusions behind. Her subjects include unhappy childhoods, difficult love affairs and spiritual illumination. 

Lily has been an indefatigable world traveler and adventurer. She now lives in Evanston, Illinois with her three cats. Aside from writing, she creates websites and spends a lot of time walking on the shores of Lake Michigan.
